Follow up to Sunday's sermon

From John Burnett...
The following was sent to me by the Chaplain at Kimray today. I thought it fit well with the sermon yesterday. I wondered if you might send to the group as some encouraging words for follow up to the sermon, If the Lord had not been on our side...Psa 124.

Romans 8:31 NASB “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?”

When the One Who possess all power and authority in Heaven and Earth is on your side there is nothing that can ultimately destroy you. The perfect case in point is Christ; when everything satan and his kingdom, allied with the most powerful nation on Earth threw everything they had at The Lord Jesus Christ, He came forth triumphant because His Father was on His side. For about three days it seemed as though the enemy had won, but the very evil they perpetrated to destroy Him was turned and became the crushing force that defeated the enemy once and for all and for all time.

The Father truly causes all things to work for good for His children.

1Corinthians 15:54-57 NASB “But when this perishable will have put on the imperishable, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then will come about the saying that is written, "DEATH IS SWALLOWED UP in victory.  “O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR VICTORY? O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR STING?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law; but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
